This 1974 Ski Country limited edition decanter captures its subject mid-triumph — a beautifully detailed raccoon perched on a log, a respectable catch firmly in his mouth, looking for all the world like he has nowhere else to be and nothing left to prove.
The hand-painting is outstanding — one of the finest examples in the Ski Country wildlife series. The raccoon's characteristic masked face, ringed tail, and textured fur are all rendered with genuine artistry, and the bisque porcelain gives the piece a warm, natural finish that suits the subject perfectly. Marked on the base: "Ski Country Golden Colorado, 4/5 Qt, Racoon, Limited Edition 1974." Retains both the original Ski Country paper label on the front and the Made in Japan foil label on the bottom. Originally sold with Bourbon Whiskey, now empty. In excellent condition — no chips or scratches, really wonderful for its age.
